My family never owned real estate growing up. We were immigrants and we always rented. My parents didn't have retirement savings. They were focused on getting by, working hard, and building a life in a new country. When I was graduating high school, I had one idea that stuck with me: I wanted to help my parents retire.
That's what led me to real estate. We were living in Toronto at the time, and buying property in the city felt out of reach. But we learned about cities surrounding the GTA where prices were still accessible, and we made our first investment as a family. Over time, those investments grew, and ultimately, they helped my parents retire.
That experience changed my trajectory. Working with real estate agents through the buying process opened my eyes to the industry, and I got my real estate license. I spent the next seven years as a Realtor, primarily helping real estate investors purchase and sell investment properties. That work also introduced me to the Niagara region. I was living in Mississauga and driving back and forth to Niagara where most of my clients were buying. Eventually I decided to take the leap and move here. I built a real estate team that at its peak was closing over 100 transactions a year.
